Monthly Meetings

Monthly meetings usually feature interesting speakers, lectures, demonstrations, or workshops. Our guest speakers’ topics do  vary widely, but all of them  seem to stimulate great interest. Recent examples:
  • “Tree Care to Manage Light in the Mature Garden"
  • “Hardy Ferns of the Mid-Atlantic”
  • “Four-Season Gardening with Perennials and ornamental Grasses.”
  • "How’s and Whys of Pruning"

Brag Night

Once a year, members are invited to bring in photos/slides or objects representing their own gardening achievements or discoveries.

Spring Awakening

Held in April, it marks Washington’s beautiful spring days and another successful year for the club.  The evening features a prominent speaker and a drawing is held for special gifts, plants and books donated by club members and local nurseries for club guests.

Swap Night

Bring plants or other garden items - a prized tomato plant, a choice azalea, rare tree, perennial or a garden tool to exchange with other club members.

Open Gardens

Members open their gardens for a tour in Spring, Summer and Fall.

Gardens Tours

Washington area public and private gardens tours.

Club Picnic

Enjoy an annual picnic, for many years at the farm of Bob Hanson, a beautiful location, and a rare “down county” working farm on Quince Orchard Road.

After the business portion program refreshments are served!
